Coach Camp 2021
June 28 - July 2, 2021
Overview
Embracing Diversity And Culture In Coaching
As missionaries, ministry leaders, and coaches, we are called to a world of expansive cultural diversity. Coaches best serve our clients when we are aware of and manage our own biases from a space of deep awareness, consideration, and appreciation of how we are alike and how we are different as humans. As coaches, we see how critical it is for those coaching culturally diverse people to understand and be able to leverage cultural differences throughout the process to effectively benefit the client. In this year’s coach camp, through group discussion, coaching interactions, practical resources, and shared stories, we will learn to recognize and increase coaching skills across different cultures.
Conference Schedule and Session Summaries
Day One
We look back and reflect on the impact coaching has had on our journey as Navigators and then look ahead to how coaching will continue to influence our National Strategy and Missional Objectives. We will explore why coaching should be at the core of every Navigator and disciple maker’s road ahead in living out their calling and commission! We also hear from those coached through life and leadership transformation share inspirational testimonials from their coaching journey.
Day Two
We look more closely at how God transforms us and our ministries as we become transparent with Him, acknowledging His character and work, setting ourselves in a place to see His pathway at His work through us. We examine cross-cultural awareness by engaging in discussion, discovery, affirmation, exploration, and celebration of our myriad of differences and common points of connection.
Day Three
We look at how His Spirit calls us into mission with Him and revealing evidence of God’s design that we can implement in the coaching relationships He brings our way. We begin to experience a courageous dance of discovery, sensitivity, and humility that helps us grow awareness for healing and hope across diverse, threatened, and often conflicting cultures in which we serve.
Day Four
We have been created for community and are challenged to grow in many ways through the unique dynamics that can happen in groups. We look more closely at how to harness the power of group interaction within the open, exploratory, and genuinely curious ‘space’ of professional coaching. Learn how we coach in ways that empower and not impose when we serve in differing cultures. We will highlight coaching principles that have transcended specific cultural patterns.
Day Five
Engage in a guided personal retreat away from distraction where you can rest, reflect, and listen to the Lord. Take the time to quiet yourself and give Him your full attention. Pray for God’s guidance as you look more closely at key takeaways from your Coach Camp experience. Look ahead to where you want to be in a year from now, examine your motivations and investigate the benefits from reaching your full potential.
