When Devotional Time Stops Being a Routine and Becomes a Relationship

ROY ROSALES AUBERT The Navigators | Aguascalientes, Mexico For years, I wanted to have a “real” devotional time—one that was neither born out of guilt nor rushed and squeezed in between breakfast and the day’s first meeting. But my busy life didn’t allow for that. So I tried quick fixes: Bible apps, five-minute devotionals, daily […]

Contemplative Discipleship Wheel

The Navigator Wheel, depicting the life of an “obedient Christian in action,” sets the foundation for people setting out on the path of lifetime discipleship. Yet, how can disciples already on the path keep deepening their journey? Throughout the centuries, many men and women wrote of living a life of action (Martha) and a life of contemplation (Mary). They saw it as a “both/and” way of living, not an “either/or” (Luke 10:38-42).

Much as a bicycle can make steadier progress than a unicycle, the obedient Christian will deepen and become a reservoir through also fostering a life of contemplation. Jodi’s original Contemplative Discipleship Wheel is for believers seeking to experience a life of contemplation as well in their spiritual formation journey, marked by the rich, intimate love of God.
